Transition

SYNOPSIS: Transition follows Australian filmmaker Jordan Bryon as he reports and lives in a rapidly collapsing Afghanistan. As American forces prepare to withdraw from the country, Jordan begins his own transition, receiving testosterone injections from an Afghan doctor. At the same time, Jordan and his friends Teddy, an Afghan cinematographer, and Kiana, an Iranian photojournalist, try to navigate this rapidly shifting landscape.

Embedded with a group of Taliban fighters, Jordan must grapple with complex ethical dilemmas as his relationships with these men deepen. A meditation on binary visions of the world – right and wrong, good and evil, war and peace, men and women – the film explores what it takes to feel at home in our own skin and to find humanity in even the darkest of places.
